About Me

My name is Kevin Edgmon, and I have been around pools and a swimming instructor for as long as I can remember.

  • As a special education teacher teaching children how to swim, I have developed a highly successful approach that has evolved over the past 30+ years.

  • Through my teaching, I have learned that implementing a “one size fits all” approach is not effective. Instead, the one-on-one approach allows me to target each child’s specific, already existing skills to develop a positive relationship with water.

  • The swim lessons I offer are 15-minute one-on-one sessions to create trust-based relationships with the children. I have found that children learn best when they feel safe and comfortable in an already unfamiliar water environment. These relationships lead to reduced fears of the water, which reinforces trust.
